Horse racing in state is looked after by the Oregon Racing Commission, which oversees the state's racetrack and online racing operators.
There is one race track in the state (Portland Meadows in Portland) and it plays hosts to American Quarter Horse racing as well as thoroughbred races. As well as being able to place parimutuel wagers here on live events and simulcast racing events around the world, visitors are also able to take part in poker games and historical horse racing slot machines
Thanks to a bill that was signed back in the infancy of the internet in 1997, Oregon became one of the first states that would regulate horse wagering operators on the world wide web. This state is the home to operators such as TVG and TwinSpires, and in total the commission looks after the license for nine betting companies that operate horse racing websites.
As the state is home to so many operators, it should be no real surprise to discover that residents can legally place online bets via these companies and take advantage of any horse racing offers they might be running.
Although every care has been taken into providing the information for this map, state law can often change and this map is how we at GamingUSA understand the gambling law in each state to be as of March 27th 2023
