The state of Oregon is not opposed to gambling, and the options for gamblers in the Beaver State includes several tribal casinos which are spread out over several counties. At these locations -- which exist due to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 -- visitors can play slot machines, table games and indulge in a game of poker or two.
Up until 2007 parlay sports betting was allowed on the NBA via the Sports Action game before it was shut down. However, it was via this method that in 2019, without the need for new legislation the Oregon Lottery commission was able to bring back sports betting at retail locations throughout the state and online.
Other options for gamblers in the state is to play in fantasy leagues or on horse racing, either at the solitary horse track in the state or over the internet.
The state runs a lottery, which cannot be currently be played online. That said, with the recent developments on sports betting it could see the Lottery Commission introduce new games such as online scratch cards.
The Oregon lottery also allows players to access video lottery terminals throughout the state where players are essentially playing slots.
