Indiana has passed a bill that will allow the immediate return of table games at racetrack casinos within the state borders. The bill, which has been sponsored by Republicans Jon Ford and Mark Messmer, also makes a provision for mobile betting, provided the bettor has first visited the physical location.
A new online sportsbook has arrived in New Jersey with the Golden Nugget now able to take bets on all major sports markets except for the NBA due to the potential conflict of interest of Landry's Inc. (owner of the Golden Nugget Chain) chairman Tilman Fertitta's ownership of the Houston Rockets.
Mobile sports wagering could be coming to Rhode Island following approval of the legislation by its senate.
The move comes from the Twin River Casino and Tiverton Casino Hotel agreeing to pass on 51% of all winnings from sports wagering to the state.
An app would be created that would allow consumers to access the casino’s offerings, but users would first have to register in person at the property.
To use the app you would have to physically be in Rhode Island to place your wager, backed with geo-targeting software running in the background to ensure that the wager was placed within the state’s boundaries.
More news as it arrives on this matter for Rhode Island.
