Gambling in person is permitted across the Treasure State with casinos and video poker licenses issued. In fact, any venue that sells alcohol in the state is allowed to have up to 20 video poker machines on its premises, and more than 1,400 establishments have made use of this allowance.
However, despite being one of four states with an exemption under the old Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, the state hasn’t done much at all with regards to sports gambling with only limited betting on horses permitted at the state’s race tracks.
A bill has been tabled in the state legislature, S 25, that would permit sports pools and tabs.
Apart from that, no form of online gambling is legal other than horse racing.
The state currently runs a lottery, but tickets can only be purchased from licensed retailers and no online purchase option is currently available.
