Horse Racing in Iowa

Residents of the state will be familiar with placing real money bets at one of Iowa's two racetracks, with both able to accept parimutuel wagering.

This continues online with horse racing being of one only forms of betting that is permitted to take place on the internet in Iowa. Any resident of age in the state is allowed to sign up for an account with one of the operators such as TVG, TwinSpires and BetAmeica, and once registered they can then place real money bets on horse races around the country.  Not only that but watch live racing streamed to their device of choice from selected racetracks around the world.

If you are TVG customer you must log in via the Prairie Meadows version of TVG's website, and this is available at https://ia.tvg.com. Also, TVG customers are not allowed to place bets on any location that is owned by Churchill Downs, and this includes the following tracks:

Arlington Park, Batavia, Buffalo, Calder, Churchill Downs, Fairgrounds, Finger Lakes, Monticello, Oaklawn, Tioga, Vernon, Canterbury Park, Hoosier Park, Indiana Grand Race Course, Miami Valley, Oaklawn Park, Ocean Downs, and The Meadows.

This will mean that Iowa residents are NOT permitted to place a wager on the Kentucky Derby.
