Like New Jersey, Delaware is seen as one of most progressive states in terms of gambling after officials in the state in 2009 approved the Division of Business and Professional Regulation, which in effect legalized casino gaming at licensed venues throughout the state.
Delaware boasts three land-based casinos -- on top of traditional table games and slots, each of the casinos comes with its own horse-racing track. That is because the only places anyone could offer legal gambling was at a licensed racetrack and those have naturally become the hubs for poker and casino gaming in the state. In each of the casinos, you will also find poker rooms that offer several variations of the game.
Unlike a lot of other states, these casinos do allow Vegas-style betting on most professional and college sports after state regulators acted very fast to make Delaware the first state outside of Nevada to offer single-game sports betting in June 2018, mere weeks after the PASPA ban had been struck down by the US Supreme Court.
Although every care has been taken into providing the information for this map, state law can often change and this map is how we at GamingUSA understand the gambling law in each state to be as of March 27th 2023
