Gambling may feel like it has been left in the wilderness in the Heart of Dixie as there are just three land-based casinos in the state: the Wind Creek Montgomery, Wind Creek Wetumpka and the Wind Creek Atmore. From the names you have probably deduced, they are all located on tribal ground and being run by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The tribe are allowed to operate casinos in the state via the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988, which enables many states to work around the gambling laws in the country.
There is also VictoryLand Greyhound Park in Shorter, which is currently inactive for live horse racing but visitors are allowed to place wagers on simulcast greyhound and horse racing events that take place around the country, and there is also a casino floor which boasts more than 500 gaming machines to make this the state's only racino (the name given to racetracks that also have casino like elements).
Alabama Casinos:

Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery (1801 Eddie Tullis Dr.)
Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Wetumpka (100 River Oaks Dr.)
